A SAFE, AFFIRMING, SUPPORTIVE MINISTRY
The youth (6th-12th graders) are a vital part of First Presbyterian Church of Allentown’s life. We form the faith our middle and high school youth and their families through education, fellowship, mission, and intentional involvement among our multigenerational community. We empower our youth to be present and future leaders in our community of faith and elsewhere.
6th to 8th Graders
Our 6th - 8th Graders have the opportunity to gather with one another and their adult leaders in formation, fellowship, and fun. This age group focuses on student finding an confident independence in their faith and personal lives. We continue to create and build upon holy friendships among our middle school youth.
9th to 12th Graders
Our 9th - 12th Graders continue to gather for formation, fellowship, and fun as they find themselves as leaders in our all ages faith formation program and throughout our multigenerational community. As our high school youth experience great transitions, we walk alongside them in their journey as they prepare for their next steps in their faith and their lives.
8th Graders and Older
The Confirmation Program is a time for rising 8th Grade students and older to consider what it means to be a Christian disciple and have the opportunity to be received as an active member into our church.

Home is the primary place where faith is formed. All gatherings of education, fellowship, mission, and intentional involvement for our youth should con-tinue at homes. We equip youth and their families to continue conversations and practices at home. We bring fami-lies together intentionally with one an-other, so holy friendships exists among multiple generations.
We believe God equips all people with spiritual gifts and talents and calls us to use those gifts to further the work of God’s Kingdom on earth. Every time a child is baptized, our congregation promises to help parents raise and nurture their child in the ways of God. One way we can live out this baptismal vow is to serve as a faith formation leader. Many opportunities exist for members and friends of our congregation to serve as a leader of children, tweens, youth and adults. Is God calling you to use your gifts as a faith formation leader?
All leaders who minister with children or youth in the life of our church must complete our Safe Sanctuaries training to help us do everything possible to keep them safe. For detailed information about our Safe Sanctuaries program, see the Resource Center.
