Brochures and applications are now available for the 2008 Natalie Theresa Keller Scholarship.  The purpose of the scholarship is to assist those who desire to pursue or enhance a career which focuses on the nuturing of children.  This might include, though is certainly not limited to, day care, childhood education, health care, social work, or ministry.  The scholarship is not limited to members of First Presbyterian Church of Allentown, nor is it limited to those just beginning the education process.  Community service, church activities, and other activities and interests will be taken into consideration.  The amount of the award will be determined each year by the scholarship committee, with a minimum award of $1,000.

The annual deadline for completed application forms and letters of reference is April 15.  Applications will be reviewed by May 15, followed by interviews with the most qualified applicants.  The scholarship(s) will be awarded in June.

Following the death of John S. Pidcock in 1999, the outpouring of love and respect for him resulted in financial contributions from members of First Presbyterian Church of Allentown as well as from many other friends and colleagues in the Lehigh Valley and elsewhere.  After considering several possible uses for these gifts, the Pidcock family recommended that the establishment of a scholarship fund in John’s memory would best honor him as he was known and loved.  His life was a reflection of his discipline and commitment to his faith in God through dedication to the church, education, mission, and community service.

The annual deadline for completed application forms and letters of reference is Jan 31.  Applications will be reviewed by Feb 28, followed by interviews with the most qualified applicants.  The scholarship(s) will be awarded in April.
