 Pentecost Minimize
Our Pentecost Offering: May 23, 2010

When a new baby is welcomed into a family, every smile and giggle brings us a special delight. Every “first” is a celebration; the baby’s first word a real joy. But to some families, those joys fade quickly as their precious child begins to show unusual tendencies and the doctor gives the diagnosis: autism. The Sr. High Church School class at FPC decided to designate our church’s 40% portion of the Pentecost Offering, a special denominational offering, to go to ARCH and ASA-LV, two local autism support groups. Providing services both clinical and non-clinical, these organizations seek to help those diagnosed on the autism spectrum and their families by offering support, research and activities in safe, therapeutic and educational environments. The remaining 60% of the offering is designated by the General Assembly towards Ministries with youth and young adults; Young Adult Volunteers; and Child Advocacy Ministries.
